Project Details

Aims

• To collect recorded speech from native speakers of Welsh .
• To annotate the recordings (semi-)automatically at various linguistic levels:
  1. Acoustic-phonetic unit
  2. Phoneme
  3. Syllable
  4. Word
  5. Intonation units
• To perform a statistical analysis of the annotated speech database, and to derive new information about the acoustic characteristics of Welsh speech sounds.

Uses

New data on the acoustic characteristics of Welsh speech sounds and Welsh prosody.
