The third grant for the Espresso project runs from 1st January 2003 to 31st December 2005.
In the latest phase of Espresso, we will look at two ways of improving the modelling power of the linear dynamical models developed in Espresso II:
- learning what inventory of units to model (because phones are probably not optimal for this type of model)
- enhancing the model itself by introducing a finite-state switching process to control the LDM parameters
- You can find all the publications relating to Espresso here.
- Student reports and dissertations can be found here
This work is being funded by the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council, EPSRC grant number GR/R67224 "Automatically-determined unit inventories for ASR".
