The relation between the contents of the European Masters and university
courses is reviewed by the Masters board.
Any university can apply for
acceptance of a programme of course modules within the framework of the Masters.
Once a programme of course modules has been accepted, the organising department
is responsible for the assessment of a student's work and the award of
its own degrees and certificates. In case of visiting exchange students,
the department should take measures to acknowledge the results of the student
in appropriate terms (for instance, ECTS credits).
The following situations are foreseen:
- A university applies for acceptance of a programme of course modules
that completely covers the contents of the European Masters.
- A university applies for acceptance of a programme of course modules
that partially covers the contents of the European Masters. Suggestions
should be given as to how the student can obtain the missing contents,
for instance by an exchange visit with another university.
- A university applies for acceptance of a programme of course modules
that covers part of the European Masters contents in order to make these
course modules available for exchange students who are studying for a European
Masters degree elsewhere. This could be the case when a department offers
a limited series of course modules for exchange students that would fit well
into their Masters study at their home university, although the department
does not intend to offer a complete Masters programme to its own students.
The organisation of the traineeship of a student is the responsibility
of the home university of the student.
