CSTR's 21st Anniversary

1 - 2 September 2005

Friday night social event at "The Jazz Bar"

The Jazz Bar at 1a, Chambers Street will be familiar to many of you in one of its former incarnations. It has been known variously as "The Cellar Bar", "Cellar Number 1", "The Wine Well" and " The Beat Basement". Does anyone remember its brief spell as an Irish Pub? It is now operated by Edinburgh jazz scene stalwart Bill Kyle.

This bar is in the same building as 80, South Bridge (or at least, the half of it that remains after the fire) and was the CSTR regular pub for many years.

The bar is exclusively ours (mention "CSTR 21" on the door) from 7pm until 9.30pm. There will then be a jazz band and the bar will open to the public - we are welcome to stay in the bar after 9.30pm at no charge.

There is a full bar and we will provide a complimentary buffet.

Please register for the whole CSTR 21 event using the online form so we can estimate numbers.

If you wish to explore other old haunts before or after this event, many are still there and largely unchanged (Bannermans, the City Cafe, the Blind Poet) and some have changed their name (Maxie's on West Nicholson Street is now a Belgian bar called Centraal). The Advocate on South Bridge was lost in the fire.
